The Rebuild Source function will write to any unwritten sectors on the drive connected to the Source port. Some USB flash drives may contain sectors which have never been written to. Unwritten sectors are neither designated as a “1” or “0” and may cause read errors.
To rebuild the source drive:
1. Power on the duplicator.
2. After the duplicator has fully booted, insert the USB drives that you are looking to rebuild to the Source port on the duplicator. Note: This drive must be connected to the Source port as no other port is accessed during this process.
3. From the Main Menu press the Up or Down buttons until you see Utilities.
4. When Utilities is displaying for you, press the ENT button to enter this menu.
5. You will be able to access the Utilities menu and from here you can use the Up or Down buttons to switch menu options.
6. After locating Rebuild Source, press the ENT button to enter this option.
7. After a moment, your duplicator will state that it is Rebuilding.
Based on the image above, here is the information that is displayed:
Rebuilding | This represents the the process that is occurring at this time. |
983M | This is the total amount of capacity that is on the drive. |
1m 5s | This represents the amount of estimated time remaining for the process above to completed. |
20% | This represents the percentage completed so far on this process. |
8. After this is completed you will see the standard Pass/Fail prompt If you have more drives that you would like to rebuild, at this time you can remove the current drive in the Source port or you can press ESC which will bring you back to the Utilities menu.
9. When you remove the drive, you will then be prompted to press ENT to continue. At this point, if you have more drives that you would like to use the Rebuild Source feature with, you can insert it into the Source port and press ENT to run the process once again. If at this time you do not wish to run the process again, you can press ESC which will bring you back to the Utilities menu.
10. To exit back to the Main Menu, process the ESC button once again.
