The Kanguru U2D2 USB duplicators provide for the ability to update the firmware on the duplicator. Firmware updates are important as they provide bug mitigations as well as new/enhanced features.
To determine if your device has an update available, please compare the current firmware version on your duplicator (able to be located under System Info) compared to what is on the Kanguru Support Site by clicking HERE.
If there is a firmware update is available for your device, you can use the following steps to update your device firmware:
1. Download the firmware update from the Kanguru Support Site. The updates that we provide are compressed in a Zip format and will need to be extracted and placed on a USB drive that is formatted to FAT32. Note: The firmware update files must be on the root directory of the USB drive not in a folder.
2. Power on the duplicator.
3. After the duplicator has fully booted, from the Main Menu press the Up or Down buttons until you see Utilities.
4. When Utilities is displaying for you, press the ENT button to enter this menu.
5. You will be able to access the Utilities menu and from here you can use the Up or Down buttons to switch menu options.
6. After locating Update Firmware, press the ENT button to enter this option.
7. You will be prompted to insert a USB drive at which time you will need to connect your USB containing the firmware update to the Source port of the duplicator.
8. After the firmware update completes, you will be prompted to reboot your duplicator.
