As of October 18, 2019, Kanguru has released an update for the Defender Elite30 devices to bring the devices to the latest version (at the time) 5.1.4.9. In some cases, when performing this update, you may receive a message shown below stating that a one-time device reset is required to update your device. This one-time reset will allow your device to remain compatible with future KDM updates as well as Mac OS 10.15.
If you receive this message, backup all data on the device to a secondary location before proceeding, as all data will be removed from the device as part of the update. Once you have performed this backup, run the update once again and proceed with entering your device password and selecting the check box showing that you understand all device data has been backed up. Please note that any data on the device during this update will not be able to be recovered by any means once the process is completed.
If you are performing this update on a Mac, you may receive a messaged stating “You inserted a blank DVD. Choose an action from the pop-up menu or click Ignore”. If this appears, select “Ignore” to close the pop-up.
