When attempting to run the Kanguru Defender Manager application on a Mac system you may receive a message stating, ““KDM” is not optimized for your Mac. This app needs to be updated by its developer to improve compatibility.”
To continue using your Defender device after receiving this message, please click on the “OK” button. This is a known issue. Apple is moving away from supporting 32-bit applications and will remove compatibility for 32-bit applications completely in the next release version of MacOS (currently scheduled for October 2018).
Kanguru is already working on updates to provide 64-bit compatibility for the following models:
- Defender Elite200
- Defender Elite30
- Defender Elite300
- Defender 2000
- Defender 3000
Update: Note that the Defender 3000, Defender Elite300, and Defender Elite30 drives have updates available that will update the KDM application to a 64-bit version. These updates can be located on our support site at https://kanguru.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/206384047-Defender-Client-Updates
Please check back for further updates. You can contact Kanguru support if you have any questions
