I do not see the Defender icon in the taskbar area
By default taskbar icons in Windows 7 & 8 only appear when there is a notification, otherwise they remain hidden. This can make locating the Kanguru Defender icon difficult when attempting to access the Defender's menu or unmounting the device's secure partition. Please follow these steps to access the Kanguru Defender taskbar icon:
1. If you look at the taskbar area, there is an up-arrow icon that appears to the left of the taskbar area. If you hover your cursor over the up-arrow, it will say “Show hidden icons”.
2. When you click on the up-arrow icon, a small popup window will appear that displays all hidden icons. If you've logged into your Defender drive already, you will see the Kanguru Defender icon which you can click on to access the Defender menu and unmount the device.
If you do not like this approach, you can manually configure the taskbar to always show the Kanguru Defender icon. To do so, click on the "Customize" option at the bottom of the pop up window.
You will see a list of every available taskbar icon (list size varies for each computer). Scroll through the list and locate the Kanguru Defender Manager option. Select "Show Icon and Notifications" from the drop down menu and then click on the "OK" button.
Once this is completed you will always see the Kanguru Defender Icon in your taskbar when you are logged into the drive.
