When trying to reset my secure flash drive, I receive the following error message, "Failed to erase security info. Please restart and try again. Os error (0x80004005) unspecified error"
You will receive this error message if the write-protect switch is set in the locked position when the drive is attempting to perform any self-automated tasks, such as deleting information from the secure partition during a device reset.
To prevent the error from occurring, make sure that the write-protect switch located on the side of the drive is set in the unlock position. If the write-protect switch is not set in the unlocked position, then safely remove the drive from your computer, move the switch in the unlocked position, plug the drive back in the computer and then run the KDM application.
