The Host Protected Area (HPA), sometimes referred to as the Hidden Protected Area, is a partition on the hard drive that is not normally visible to an operating system.
The options for the HPA Check are as follows:
| Disabled | The system will not check for HPA partitions. Drives that contain HPA may not duplicate successfully. |
| Enabled | When HPA CHECK is enabled the duplicator will support Host Protection Areas. When you duplicate a Source HDD that contains HPA, the system will detect the HPA partition, unlock it, copy the area and then re-lock the area once duplication is complete. Note: This is the Default setting. |
To change the HPA Check setting:
- Power on the duplicator.
- From the Main Copy Menu press the Up or Down buttons until you see Setup.
- When Setup is displaying for you, press the ENT button to enter this menu.
- You will be able to access the Setup menu and from here you can use the Up or Down buttons to switch menu options.
- After locating HPA Check, press the ENT button to alter this option.
- Press the ESC button after selecting the desired setting to proceed back to the Main Menu.
