If your duplicator is failing when attempting to duplicate a Master disks containing a Windows 10 operating system, please contact Kanguru Solutions tech support and request a firmware update for your duplicator.
If duplication of the Windows 10 hard drive completes successfully but the disk will not boot when inserted in a PC then make sure that the original Master drive with the Windows 10 operating system does not have hibernation enabled under Power Options. Windows 10 allows the user to put their computer into a suspended state. Prior to going into a suspended state, data about the computer's current state is saved. When the machine restarts, it loads the information from this saved state data and returns the computer to it's former state quickly. Before going into hibernation mode, the computer saves the current state data directly to the root of your computer's hard drive in a file named "hiberfil.sys". This saved state data includes information about the the computer's hardware information, like the HDD's serial number. If your Master HDD has a "hiberfil.sys" on the root directory and you duplicate it to another HDD, the "hiberfil.sys" file's saved information for the drive's serial number will not match the duplicate drive's serial number, which can lead to booting issues. To avoid this situation, make sure that hibernation mode has been disabled in Windows Power Options and that there is no "hiberfil.sys" file saved on the root directory of your Master drive.
