How do I resize the contents from a Source drive to Target drives of a larger capacity?
Certain Kanguru Clone HD Duplicator models include a Resize copy feature which allows you to copy the content from a smaller Source drive to larger capacity Target drives. The Resize function first copies the data from the Source to the Targets and then extends the last partition so that it includes any unallocated space left on the drive. Resize copy is especially useful when upgrading a system. However there are a few requirements that must be met in order for the Resize copy to work
- The Source drive must be formatted in a Windows based file system (i.e. FAT, FAT32, eXFAT, NTFS). Linux or Mac based file systems must be copied using the Brief copy function and the partition can be expanded post duplication.
- The Source drive must be at least 3% smaller (by default) than the Target drive.
- All Target drives must be the same capacity.
If your drives do not meet any one of the above criteria then you will not be able to run the Resize copy.
