My 32GB Kanguru eFlash's read/write performance is slower than what is listed in the technical specifications on your website.
It is likely that you have a rev.1 version of the eFlash. The 32GB eFlash underwent a hardware revision on 05/07/09 that boosted its read/write performance. The rev.2 version of the eFlash has better read/write transfer rates:
32GB eFlash rev.1
- Read Speed
- eSATA: up to 75 MB/s
- USB 2.0: up to 30 MB/s
- Write Speed
- eSATA: up to 45 MB/s
- USB 2.0: up to 20 MB/s
32GB eFlash rev.2
- Read Speed
- eSATA: up to 85 MB/s
- USB 2.0: up to 33 MB/s
- Write Speed
- eSATA: up to 50 MB/s
- USB 2.0: up to 30 MB/s
Identifying the rev. version of your eFlash
You can identify which rev. version your eFlash is by checking the code laser etched on the USB Connector. If the code on the USB connector is either H0918HG, H0926HG or REV2, then you have the updated rev.2 version of the eFlash. If the code on your USB connector is different, then you have a rev.1 version of the eFlash. Please refer to the following image for the code's location on the USB connector.
Also, if you purchased your 32GB eFlash before 05/07/09, then you have the rev.1 version of the eFlash.
