This article is applicable to the following KRMC Enterprise versions:
- KRMC Enterprise 4
- KRMC Enterprise 5
- KRMC Enterprise 6
- KRMC Enterprise 7
Kanguru is announcing End-of-Support (EoS) for Windows Server based KRMC Enterprise versions 4,5,6, and 7. The EoS date is set to March 31, 2019. As of April 1,2019, KRMC Enterprise 8.x will be the only supported version of KRMC Enterprise
Additionally, Windows Server based KRMC Enterprise versions noted above use PHP 5, which will be EoS on December 31, 2018 (http://php.net/supported-versions.php). Past this date, any security audit applications that scan your KRMC server may report a security flaw showing an unsupported version of PHP on the server.
Since the KRMC Enterprise versions 5,6, and 7 are also slated to be EoS shortly after, we do not plan to offer a KRMC patch or PHP update for these KRMC Enterprise versions at this time.
Why this change:
Windows Server based KRMC Enterprise versions tend to have a higher support requirement over their lifetime, often requiring Windows Server or SQL Server troubleshooting in addition to KRMC troubleshooting. We believe that the KRMC experience for the end customer can be significantly improved by offering KRMC as a black-box VM, completely pre-packaged with a webserver and a database server. In this approach, we provide pretested versions of all dependent components so that you, the customer can be sure that everything works out of the box, as opposed to installing several different Windows components or add-on software that may or may not work together.
How this will impact me:
KRMC Enterprise server versions 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, 7.x will not be supported after the EoS date of March 31, 2019.
