Kanguru has recently fixed an issue with Anti-Virus update definitions not downloading from Kanguru servers to Defender drives.
Symptom
After logging into your Defender drive you receive the message, “Antivirus is currently being updated and the antivirus engine has not yet been initialized. The scan engine will start once the antivirus definitions have been downloaded”. After this message is seen, the device appears to not download any AV definitions and the service is not accessible. This indicates that your AV definitions are not being updated, and will impact the Anti-Virus effectiveness on your Defender drive.
Resolution
Kanguru has identified a fix for this issue which can be applied by updating your device with the latest client version. To download the client update tool for your drive, please visit the Software Downloads section of our website (click here)
Until your Defender client is updated, please exercise discretion in using it on an unprotected PC. It is wise to restrict Defender drive usage and ensure that any files being copied onto a Defender drive are scanned using a proper AV solution until the client is updated.
